CONSUMER ISSUES

Have you purchased faulty or unsafe goods?

Have you paid for unsatisfactory services?

Are you having problems with credit for goods or services?

Faulty or Unsafe Goods

When you buy goods you have the right to expect they will be as described, that they are fit for their intended purpose, and that they are of satisfactory quality and that they are safe.

Unsatisfactory Service

When you pay for a service, you can expect to receive a quality of service bearing in mind the price paid, and that works are undertaken at a reasonable cost and in a reasonable time.

If a trader breaches these conditions in supplying goods and services, you may be entitled to a repair, refund, replacement, or in some cases compensation.

Problems With Credit

If you purchased goods or services using any form of credit, or if you made the credit agreement in your home, you may have additional rights relating to it.

If you are experiencing difficulties regarding goods or services, or are having problems with credit or want information, call our Advice Line 0844 848 7969 and speak to one of our Advisers. If an appointment is necessary, you will need to bring any relevant paperwork with you.

Further information is available from consumerdirect.gov.uk and from Trading Standards.
